Windows Media Player is automatically installed with every Windows operating
system. If you’ve never used Windows Media Player before, you may
encounter a dialog screen to initiate the player. If you do see a dialog screen,
follow the onscreen instructions. If you’re using the Windows XP operating system, you
should have all the software you need. Older versions of Windows and Windows
Media Player may require a software update to install the “codec”
for video version 9. Microsoft Windows Media codecs are automatically
downloaded by Windows Media Player, including all Windows Media codec
updates. You need to have administrator permissions to install any software.
If all goes well, you will simply click the video clip you want to watch
and it will open in a separate window that should look something like
this:

When you’re done viewing the video, click on the upper right hand
corner to close the player (see illustration above).
Controls:
The presentation should begin to play automatically, if not, simply click
the PLAY button.
Once the video begins playing, the PLAY button becomes the PAUSE button
as seen below:
Simply click the PAUSE button to stop temporarily, then click again
to resume. Don’t click the STOP button; it will reset the
video to the beginning.
Web Streaming:
The videos use web steaming technology, allowing you to view the video
as it downloads to a temporary folder on your computer as long as your
internet connection is faster than the duration of the video, you will
enjoy uninterrupted viewing. Slower connections will likely pause for
“buffering” (this means that you must wait while the download
catches up). The best solution for buffering is to simply click pause
and wait several minutes for the video download.
Upgrading Windows Media Player: It’s usually not necessary, but you may choose to upgrade your
player here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.aspx
